Acceptance of Terms

By using linkZip ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use our service.

These terms apply to all users, including free users and Pro subscribers. Additional terms may apply to Pro features, which will be clearly communicated.

What linkZip Does

linkZip is a URL shortening service that:

• Converts long URLs into shorter, more manageable links
• Redirects users from short links to the original destination
• Provides analytics and custom features for Pro users
• Maintains service uptime and security

Acceptable Use

You may use linkZip to shorten legitimate URLs. You agree NOT to use our service for:

Prohibited Content

• Malware, viruses, or other harmful software
• Phishing sites or scams designed to steal personal information
• Illegal content or activities
• Harassment, hate speech, or content targeting individuals or groups
• Adult content without appropriate warnings
• Copyright infringing material
• Spam or unsolicited commercial content

Prohibited Activities

• Attempting to overwhelm our servers (DDoS attacks)
• Trying to bypass our security measures
• Creating fake or misleading short links
• Using our service to hide the true destination of links in a deceptive way
• Reselling or redistributing our service without permission

Pro Accounts

Pro accounts include additional features and responsibilities:

• Payment: Pro features require a paid subscription processed through Stripe
• Account Security: You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
• Custom Domains: You must own any custom domains you add to your account
• Fair Use: Pro accounts have higher limits but are still subject to fair use policies

Our Rights and Responsibilities

We Can

• Remove or disable links that violate these terms
• Suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate our terms
• Update these terms with reasonable notice
• Temporarily suspend service for maintenance or security reasons
• Implement new security measures to protect users

We Will

• Make reasonable efforts to keep the service available
• Protect your privacy according to our Privacy Policy
• Provide support for Pro users
• Give notice before making significant changes to the service

Service Availability

We strive to keep linkZip available 24/7, but we can't guarantee 100% uptime. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Important: linkZip may experience downtime for maintenance, security updates, or unexpected technical issues. We'll communicate planned maintenance when possible.

Limitation of Liability

linkZip is provided "as is" without any warranties. We're not responsible for:

• Content or safety of destinations that short links point to
• Damages resulting from service interruptions
• Loss of data or links (though we make reasonable efforts to prevent this)
• Actions taken by users of the service
• Third-party content or services

Copyright and DMCA

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe a short link points to content that infringes your copyright, please contact us with:

• The short link in question
• Information about the copyrighted work
• Your contact information
• A statement that you believe the use is not authorized

Termination

Either party can terminate the relationship at any time:

• You can: Stop using the service anytime, or delete your Pro account through your dashboard
• We can: Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice depending on severity
• Pro Subscriptions: Can be cancelled anytime, with access continuing until the end of the billing period

Refunds and Billing

For Pro subscriptions:

• Billing is handled through Stripe, our payment processor
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
• Refunds are generally not provided, but we'll consider them for technical issues on our end
• You can cancel your subscription anytime to prevent future charges

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. When we do:

• We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top
• For significant changes, we'll notify Pro users via email
• Continued use of the service means you accept the updated terms
• If you don't agree with new terms, you can stop using the service

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts, though we prefer to work things out directly when possible.

Reporting Violations

If you encounter a short link that violates these terms, please report it to us. We take reports seriously and will investigate promptly.
